For a customer in the banking environment, it is not possible to adapt certain reporting- relevant factual circumstances in the upstream systems with a reasonably proportionate implementation effort. In the past, this was conducted with an Excel worksheet, where input data for the report creation software can be adapted in individual cases. The previous procedure in Excel did not include a sufficient historicization, and demonstrated performance limitations when the number of datasets to be adapted increased.
The new procedure should continue to be as simple as possible, and under the responsibility of the respective technical department. A solution is therefore possible with a database which is founded on Access and VBA. Through this, it is possible to supply several different reporting units and instances with a significant performance improvement, while at the same time fulfilling all requirements of the technical and audit department.
Through a utilization of the new revision and audit-proof database, the input data can be adapted for several reporting units and instances with a significant performance improvement, prior to the processing in the report generation software.
